Redirected was KA1 activity within Erasmus + programme that gathered 22 youth workers, representatives, and youth leaders from 9 different countries in a seminar that took place in Riga from 4th to 9th of October.
Recently, the pandemic caused by — Covid -19 outbreak has made people to revise how we see education system and learning process. The formal education institutions have come up with solutions and adaptive strategies to overcome this period of complications, however the transfer to digital youth work in non formal education hasn’t been so organized and wide — spread. Majority of youth workers and organsiations are facing difficulties on how to transfer their activities into digital world and include digital approach to their youth work. This makes the time of self isolation even harder for young people who are not able to participate in any activities.
In the last years DIGCOMP framework has developed the DIGCOMPEDU the European framework for Digital Competence of Educators (2018), which has defined the approach with which educators should improve their work. Based on the DIGCOMPEDU we would like to shift that approach as a daily approach for all the youth workers and update their connectivity with young people during the pandemic.
We wanted to create space for innovations and improvements of digital youth work by sharing best practices and new approaches used with young people by creating a network of youth workers who act as ambassadors for improvement of digital youth work.
Through different non formal education methods youth workers learned about concept of digital youth work, exchanged their organization’s best practices, took part in different workshops, simulations, engaged in discussions, introduced to Youthpass competencies, DigiComp and ethics in digital youthwork.
Participants explored different digital tools by creating workshops of their own and presenting them to others, also receiving feedback and ideas for improvement- storyboardthat, menti, worldwall, mural, linoit, mentimeter, goosechase, miro trello, padlet, canva, microsoftteams, basecamp, infogram, picsart and others.
In order to strengthen the network of organizations and participants NGO fair was implemented during which every organization had a chance to present itself and its activities and future plans for cooperation and development. New partnerships were made and based on new connections the partners will implement new projects in future — one of the tools explored is dedicated to improving the quality of project writing and will be useful to improve teh quality of the future projects.
In the end of the course participants received YouthPass certificate as recognition of the skills and competencies gained during the seminar.
